Blue Beech

(Carpinus caroliniana)

The blue beech is one of the few landscape trees that does well in full shade. Its smooth bark with fluted, muscle-like form adds textural interest. Its small size, adaptable light needs, and tolerance of drought and poor soil make it a versatile choice for an urban landscape.
