Swamp White Oak

(Quercus bicolor)

An excellent urban tree due to its adaptation to low-oxygen soils, the swamp white oak has a high degree of tolerance to salt and visiting dogs. Its leaves take on a deep amber color in the fall, with most of them staying attached well into the winter. A swamp white oak could be a good choice to establish a year-round privacy screen for your house, outdoor patio, or other space.
