Sienna Glen® Maple
(Acer x freemanii ‘Sienna’)
The Sienna Glen® Maple is a naturally occurring hybrid of red and silver maple found on an abandoned farmstead in Lake Elmo, MN. It has vibrant, red-orange fall color and a better branching structure than the popular Autumn Blaze™ hybrid, to which it is often compared. It will need less structural pruning than an Autumn Blaze™ when it is young. Its higher tolerance of alkaline soils means that it is also less prone to developing chlorosis than an Autumn Blaze™. It makes an excellent focal point in your landscape due to its brilliant fall color.
